Welcome to Caleb’s Cuisine

About Caleb

Hey, I’m Caleb. Welcome to Caleb’s Cuisine.

Caleb’s Cuisine is where I share recipes, drinks, and hosting ideas that I hope other people can try themselves — whether that’s bringing friends together, making something new for a get-together, or just cooking a solid meal at home. I’m always experimenting, adjusting, and putting my own twist on things. If I try something I like, I’m already thinking about how to elevate it.

Where I Come From

I was born in the Tacoma/Seattle area and lived there for a few years. After that, I spent my early childhood in Harrisburg from around age three to seven. Then we moved to Brunswick, Maine, which is where I really feel like I grew up.

I lived in a small town right near the water, so fishing was just something I got to do all the time, especially in the summer. I spent a lot of time trying different spots, catching different fish, cooking them, and eating fresh seafood. That whole lifestyle of being outside, staying active, and always doing something shaped a lot of who I am.

After Maine, I lived in San Antonio, Texas for less than a year. Then I moved to Pittsburgh, where I finished middle school and went to high school and college. In 2019 I moved to Los Angeles for a bit, and in 2020 I came back to Pittsburgh, where I am now.

Moving around so much was a great experience for me because I got to see and try so many different cultures and styles of food.

Things I Love

  • Those half-sized grocery carts at Market District
  • Playing tennis and golf
  • Hosting friends and making drinks and food for them
  • My family — my mom, my sisters, and their families mean a lot to me. I love being an uncle, brother, and son.
  • Spending time with Roger (my Portuguese Water Dog)
  • Playing Fortnite with my nephews — and not taking it easy on them
  • Kayaking
  • Maine — fishing, summers, seeing my sister, and just being up there
  • Music — I have a really random, wide variety of music tastes

Things I Hate

  • Having a Q&A with AI to create an About Me page for my website
  • Chain-style restaurants with reheated food (don’t let me find out TGI Friday’s or Applebee’s is your favorite restaurant)
  • Mint ice cream
  • Clutter or messy spaces
  • When I let my dog outside and he stands there and stares at me
  • People who fart in enclosed spaces like airplanes or saunas

Things I’m Terrible At

  • Swimming — I will probably never learn how to swim correctly
  • Biting my tongue — I’m very blunt and straightforward
  • Sitting still

My Death Row Meal

Appetizer: Crispy Rice with Lobster, Caviar, and Truffle Aioli
Main Course: Shiitake Mushroom Risotto with Japanese A5 Wagyu
Side: Truffle Parmesan Fries
Drink: Espresso Martini
Dessert: Funfetti Cheesecake

My Philosophy Around Food

I really believe food brings people together.

For me, food is the easiest way to get people in the same place. It’s an excuse to catch up, hang out, and actually spend time together. Instead of saying “we should grab a drink sometime,” I’d rather just say “come over, I’ll make something.”

A lot of my favorite nights have been built around food — having friends over, cooking a spread, making drinks, and just letting the night go wherever it goes. Food becomes the center point of why everyone’s there.

That’s always been my favorite way to host and the main reason I love cooking for other people.

What I Want Caleb’s Cuisine to Be

I want this to be a place where I can keep sharing my ideas — dishes, drinks, hosting setups — and help other people create their own nights, their own parties, and their own celebrations.

Game day. Birthdays. Holidays. Date nights. Random get-togethers. Or just cooking something solid at home for yourself.

I love hosting, and I genuinely enjoy helping other people figure out how to pull things off — whether that’s a small dinner, a big spread, or just a cocktail that feels a little more thought-out than usual. If this space helps someone do that, then it’s doing exactly what I want it to do.

Thanks for Being Here

Whether you’re here for a drink, a meal, hosting ideas, or just to scroll and get something new to try, I’m glad you’re here.

There’s always a seat for you here.
